Details
A large-scale orchestral work opening with a 13/16 measure introducing all twelve pitches in modal form. The first movement explores ambivalent tones and polyphonic textures through varied instrumental interpolations and diverse percussion. The longer second movement focuses on internal struggle between instruments' ranges and timbres, developing musical narratives of contention and reconciliation.
